Apple Watch

One of the biggest hypes of early 2015 was the release of the Apple Watch, and we couldn't wait to test drive this bad boy for it's applications to health and fitness. Apple was unusually late to the party with this one, so it was great to see how the Apple Watch stacked up against other fitness monitors such as Fitbit and Garmin.

I'm not normally a watch wearer, so getting used to wearing a watch has been the first challenge. To balance that out, the watch does look pretty slick, and isn't as showy or obvious as you'd expect.

When it comes to fitness and health, the Apple Watch apps still have a ways to go. It's such a beautiful and delicate little thing, that it's sometimes scary to keep it on when you're really working up a sweat. It is water resistant, but not proof, and I sweat..... a lot.

The measurements are also a little off. I know I'm an early riser, and I really love the positive reinforcement, but I shouldn't be congratulated on achieving "4 Standing Hours" by 7am, especially just after a surf.
